Here at Without Borders Studio, we are not about fast fashion, or reacting to the latest trends. We believe that knitwear should be made with impeccable craftsmanship, designed and made with care and intention in each piece. Craftsmanship Steeped in Heritage
Crafted with unrivalled dedication and unwavering attention to detail, our luxury knitwear is a testament to the fusion of tradition and modernity. At Without Borders Studio, we take immense pride in our commitment to preserving time-honoured techniques, maintaining craftsmanship that has withstood the test of time. Our knitwear is made in our Cotswold studio using a Dubied machine from the 1960’s that has worked its way through Scottish textile mills and is steeped in knitwear history. Each piece encapsulates the rich heritage of knitting, representing a lineage of skilled artisans who have perfected their craft over generations. Honouring their heritage, these luxurious knitwear pieces carry with them a sense of history, a touch of nostalgia, and an undeniable aura of sophistication. Our Merino is Green
When it comes to 100% Merino knitwear, sustainable luxury takes centre stage. This luxurious fabric is sourced from Merino sheep, revered for their soft, fine wool. What sets Without Borders Studio knitwear apart is our commitment to being fully sustainable. From the moment of sheep shearing, every step of the manufacturing process is mindful of the environment. Sourcing wool from the exclusive Beaufront property famous for its premier-level merino sheep grazing promoting bio-diversity which is then spun in Tollegno 1900, Italy committed to a circular economy that makes sustainability, intelligent recycling and sensible reuse, we are proud to be committed to ensuring full product traceability of the fibres in our products. Merino wool is biodegradable, ensuring that no harmful waste is left behind. Not only does 100% Merino knitwear provide unparalleled comfort and warmth, but it also offers a guilt-free indulgence in fashion, knowing that it encompasses both high quality and a dedication to sustainable practices.
About Lois.
Lois is the face behind Without Borders Studio. The knitwear designer, maker, social media manager, quality checker, head of customer service, tea maker and everything else at Without Borders Studio, creating luxurious knitwear from the studio on the edge of the Cotswolds in England. A masters graduate in Knitwear Design, her designs are a unique contemporary twist on classic knitwear with the inherent luxury of Merino Wool, brought out through exquisite craftsmanship.
After working for Barrie Knitwear, a prestigious knitwear company in the Scottish Borders, creating knitwear for brands including Chanel, Hermès and Thom Browne; working freelance creating sample pieces for clients, including Calvin Klein, Banana Republic and Theory Luxe, Lois decided to channel her passion for knitwear into designing her own pieces, and the idea of Without Borders Studio was born.
